Paranormal activity?

Haunted...

I was at S30P and the writing prompt for the week is Haunted. Being that it is that time of year I just couldn't pass this one up. I love a good ghost story or scary movie.

If you have read any of my post about my dreams you would surely think I was haunted. There are some creepy things that go on in that little head of mine... just kidding. But in all seriousness, I do have some strange and horrifying dreams sometimes. Over the last few weeks though they have seemed to stop but for the most part, when I have one, it's a pretty good one. I started blogging some of them, but I just don't know how to put them down on paper well enough to do them justice for other readers. My dreams are vivid, detailed, full of color and dement ion. So many things going on at one time. Most of them are in three parts, all of them are reoccurring at some point in time or another.

I often thought that from my dreams I was haunted. I will sit up in the middle of the night screaming. Some nights I can't even scream, not in my dreams or even to wake myself. I've been told they are called night terrors, but I don't sleep walk with them. Most of the time when I have one that is really bad, I will hum in my sleep. I know I've mentioned that to you before. It's a deep hum, almost a growl. Creeps out the husband when he hears it. He will usually wake me up when I start. Mom says I did it even as a child in my sleep. I had the nightmares then too.

The part that really bothers me is that my dreams are so realistic sometimes I can't tell if I'm awake or dreaming. I woke up several nights as a young child when we lived in Briarwood to a little red headed boy standing next to my bed holding a record player. When we lived in our house in Broadmoor I woke up to a man standing at the foot of my bed, I would be so petrified I couldn't reach out to turn on the lamp next to my bed. But was it just a dream, or was I awake? I haven't had these incidents since High School but the nightmares have gotten quite worse. I've been taking something to help me sleep and I think it is one of the reasons I don't remember my dreams as well.

I watched Paranormal Activity the other night and it made me curious... do I walk in my sleep, is there a certain time in my sleep pattern that I start the dreams, do I hum every night, can I actually scream out loud? I wonder this pretty often. No I don't think I'm deamon posessed or anything like that. I really wonder... what have I done or what is going on inside my head that I dream this way?

In greener pastures...

Now and then I will hear someone use the phrase The grass is always greener on the other side, but what most people don't realize is The grass is greener where you fertilize it.

The writing prompt at S30P is The Grass is Growing Tall Again for the week

Yes, the grass may be greener on the other side for some people... but in my fence, the grass is tall and lush and growing tall again.

My life is full of love and romance.

Special moments with each other and quality time.

Openess and honesty

Stolen kisses

Holding hands while we fall asleep at night

Sneaking a peek at the other one while getting ready in the morning

Goodbye kisses and

always saying I love you... even if you are mad.

I have said before that he and I read the 5 Love Languages, here they are incase you would like to incorporate them in you life and find out what love language your partner speaks.Check out the website to see how.

Everyone expresses love differently. "The Five Love Languages" is a popular book that explores the ways people express their love to and receive love from their partners.

Words of Affirmation
Encourage your spouse in her achievements. Use kind words or compliment her to uplift her.

Quality Time
Spend time with your spouse. Look him in the eye when you converse, and give him your undivided attention. Take a walk with him or play a game together.

Receiving Gifts
You need not spend a lot of money on a gift, but a token to show that you were thinking of her will go far. Sometimes your spouse does not need a physical gift, but desires the gift of your presence in tough or joyous times.

Acts of Service
Provide your spouse with a clean, quiet home after work, wash the dog or take the car to the shop for an oil change. These are all examples of acts of service.

Physical Touch
Touching can vary from holding hands, hugging or intercourse. Close the physical gap between yourself and your spouse and she will feel your love.

Integrity... it's free

"INTEGRITY IS TELLING MYSELF THE TRUTH. AND HONESTY IS TELLING THE TRUTH TO OTHER PEOPLE." - SPENCER JOHNSON

I stopped in over at S30P to check out what the writing prompt for this week was, low and behold there is a quote... not a word, but a quote. I couldn't pass this one up. As many of you know I have had a great deal of turmoil in my life. Between problems with my husband and the loss of several friends, the words INTEGRITY and HONESTY have played a major role in getting my life, the life of my family, and my career back on track.

“The man who cannot endure to have his errors and shortcomings brought to the surface and made known, but tries to hide them, is unfit to walk the highway of truth.” ~ James Allen

I really don't understand why such a simple thing is so complicated. Honesty and Integrity... why is it so hard? Why is it so hard to be honest with people? Most folks don't realize that if they are upfront and honest to begin with, the repercussions are far less than if they have to explain why they were not honest to begin with? Oh, I was scared that you would be mad, I thought it would be better if you didn't know. Seriously? Let me make that decision, not you. And then there is integrity... Integrity people... If you don't act like "it", then you won't have to cover up and lie to other people about what happened and why you acted like "it" in the first place... oh and you won't be treated like "it" either. I put "it" in quotations because it would be unchristian like to call someone names... just saying. Name calling is simply childish.

I only have time in my life for people who are up front and honest with me.... hence the post about Honesty and Integrity. I do not have time for someone who says they are my friend, but run around telling my business to everyone. If you are one of those people who lacks the ability to be trustworthy... move on. I really hope that one day you will see that this type of behavior is unhealthy. I am not be the perfect Christian by far... but my Savior is. So with that in mind I will tell you I make mistakes, but I will admit when I am wrong. If you come to me and say.... Hey Rosie, did you say blah blah blah or did you blah blah blah? I'm going to be honest with you and tell you if I did or didn't. I may not be proud of some of the things I have done in my life, that is my business and no one else's.
So as I'm writing this post, a song that I have grown to love comes on KLove... Matt Maher's Hold Us Together, and it all becomes crystal clear to me. You have got to be happy with yourself and the cards you have been dealt. You must make the best of everything you have. Happiness is not something that someone gives you, you can only give it to yourself. There is no amount of money or popularity that will make you love yourself and be happy. It took me forever to finally learn that as long as you are deceptive, as long as you lie to yourself and everyone else, you will never, and I mean NEVER be truly happy. I have found my true happiness... I found it with my renewed relationship with Christ, with my revived relationship with my husband, and my rewarding relationship with my children and my friends. I have learned that you have to have love and respect for yourself, to learn to love and respect other people. The only way to be a true friend and a happy person... the only way... it to have some integrity and honesty. Without that, you are setting yourself up for failure every time.

Thank you to my dear sweet husband, I love you Buck... and to my family and friends, thank you and I love you as well.  - Rosie

Love will hold us together, make us a shelter to weather the storm. And I'll be my brother's keeper, so the whole world would know that we're not alone  - Matt Maher
